Breast Lift In Houston, TX

If you have concerns about skin laxity and sagging breasts, then a breast lift can give you the aesthetic appearance you desire to help you look younger and allow your clothes to fit better.

The Breast Lift (also known as a mastopexy) is a highly sought-after procedure that can help you attain a better overall appearance that boosts your self-confidence. Dr. Mark Shusterman specializes in breast lifts as well as breast augmentation, Silicone or Saline breast implants, and "Mommy Makeovers".

Dr. Schusterman can perform a breast lift as a stand-alone procedure, or he can incorporate it into other cosmetic breast surgeries for a more comprehensive restoration.

Many women incorrectly assume that breast implants or other breast procedures, like breast reduction surgery, will help give them higher, perkier breasts, but that is just not the case.

Instead, the only way to return your breasts to a higher, more youthful position is to combine your breast surgery with a lift.

How Will I Know if a Breast Lift Is Right for me?

Choosing cosmetic surgery is a personal choice. The reasons for a breast lift are different for each patient. You need to have a positive and healthy outlook on how you want your breasts to look. However, if you are frustrated or feel self-conscious about the sagging appearance of your breasts, then a breast lift may be the procedure you’ve been looking for.

Patients should ask the following questions when deciding if a breast lift is right for them:

  • Will a breast lift help correct the size differences in my breasts?
  • Will a breast lift help me look better in my clothes and overall appearance?
  • Will a breast lift help make my breasts look like they did before I had kids or lost weight?

It is important to discuss your aesthetic concerns and goals with Dr. Schusterman to determine how a breast lift can benefit you. At your consultation, he will examine your condition and explain how his procedures can help you meet your desired results.

What Is the Difference Between a Breast Augmentation and a Breast Lift?

On average, over 100,000 women annually elect to have breast lifts performed. However, because there are several different cosmetic breast procedures available, it is important to discuss which procedure(s) will meet your expectations with Dr. Schusterman during your breast lift consultation.

Here is a quick look at the differences between these two common cosmetic procedures:

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery to increase breast size by placing silicone implants or saline implants under the breast tissue or the chest muscle to make the breasts fuller and rounder in appearance. Breast augmentation does not technically raise the breasts’ position on the body, though the additional volume can improve the look and shape of the breasts. Fat transfer can also be used for breast augmentation.

Breast Lift

During a breast lift, Dr. Schusterman will remove excess skin, reshape, and tighten the tissue to correct sagging and give a more lifted and youthful appearance to the breasts.

Breast lifts do not add volume to the breasts, but they can help make the breasts more symmetrical while improving the breast position on the body. Breast lifts are often performed in conjunction with breast augmentation to give Dr. Schusterman the ability to provide the benefits of both breast lift and breast augmentation.

How Is a Breast Lift Performed?

There are many breast lift techniques that Dr. Schusterman can use to give your breasts the needed lift you desire. Here is a quick look at each procedure:

How Long Is My Breast Lift Recovery?

Breast lift surgery generally lasts two hours plus recovery time. Like all of our Houston breast lift patients, you will be given a specific post-surgical plan to follow.

It is recommended that you refrain from upper body activity for the next 7 to 10 days. Your bandages and support garments need to remain in place to help with recovery. You will need to wear your compression bra per Dr. Schusterman’s instructions. Even after you are cleared to remove the bra, be sure to wear supportive bras to help maintain your results.

Is a Breast Lift Painful?

As an outpatient surgery, you will be placed under general anesthesia during your breast lift surgery so that you will not feel any pain or discomfort during your procedure. Because of this, you must have someone to drive you home after surgery and stay with you during the first 24 hours.

Will a Breast Lift Leave Scars?

You will have scars after your breast lift; however, the extent of scarring will depend on the type of breast lift performed. You can help minimize the appearance of your scars by not returning to exercise too soon and applying topical scar creams and undergoing laser treatments.

How Long Will My Breast Lift Results Last?

Once your swelling subsides and your incisions are healed, you can look forward to finding yourself more than pleased with the results. A breast lift typically lasts 10 to 15 years, which is why this procedure is so popular. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which includes a balanced diet and regular exercise, you can prolong your stunning results.

After your breast lift procedure, you can enjoy wearing clothes you never could before, whether it’s that cute dress or sexy bikini, and you can do so with confidence and comfort.

What Are Some Frequently Asked Questions About Breast Lift Surgery?

Candidates for breast lift surgery are displeased by the sagging appearance of their breasts. Most candidates have experienced this laxity after pregnancy, weight loss, or age. Candidates should be in good overall health, not smoke, and have realistic expectations for their results.

Breast lift surgery cost varies between patients and will depend on the techniques used as well as any other breast or body procedure being performed in combination. Additional cost factors include anesthesia fees, facility fees, surgeon’s fees, and pre-and post-surgical tests.

Dr. Schusterman and his team will provide you with an accurate cost estimate during your consultation.

While some women notice a slight reduction in the breasts’ size following a breast lift, this surgery is not intended to increase or decrease the size of the breasts. Instead, it focuses on lifting the breast, making it more compact (which can make the breast appear smaller).

If you are looking to increase or decrease your breasts’ volume, you will need to combine your lift with an additional breast enhancement surgery.
